WELCOME TO THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON SPRING HALF MARATHON
Sunday 1st April 2018
The Royal Borough of Kingston Spring half is a new race for 2018. Running on April 1st it is ideally positioned just two and three weeks before the Brighton and London Marathons. If you are not running a marathon this spring, what could be better than a Spring Half early on Easter Sunday?
The race starts early, following a tradition of previous Kingston Spring races. This allows you to finish in time for breakfast at one of the many town restaurants, or to rush home for Easter eggs and post race chocolate.
Starting in the famous Ancient Market Place, runners will then cover 5 miles through the historic Royal Borough of Kingston. You will then cross over Kingston Bridge and head up the iconic three mile stretch of the Barge Walk beside the Thames. The race then reaches the magnificent Hampton Court Palace before continuing through Thames Ditton and back towards Kingston for the famous Market Place finish.
Easter Sunday is marked by all major stores remaining closed so we will have a lot of the town to ourselves without shoppers to worry us. The race route will be similar to the Royal Borough of Kingston Autumn Half– see video clips below! It’s a great opportunity to run on a fast and scenic route with great PB potential and chill out afterwards over coffee on the Kingston riverside!
