10 Reasons to Run!

  • The Date

April 1st 2018 (Easter Sunday) – Ideal to run as pre London or Brighton Marathon warm up, just 3 weeks before London and 2 weeks before Brighton. Great Half in its own right allowing you to make the most of Easter Sunday and still have time to spend with family or friends.

  • The Location

The race  starts and finishes in Kingston Ancient Marketplace. It’s a great setting with a number of Old coaching Inns still in place. Kingston has a fantastic history and is now one of the major growth areas in London. Finish the race and drop in to one of the local restaurants for a coffee and breakfast.

  • The Route

Starting in the famous Ancient Market Place, runners will cover 5 miles through the historic Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames before heading alongside the Thames towards the magnificent Hampton Court Palace. Runners then travel through Thames Ditton before heading back towards Kingston for the classic marketplace Finish.

  • The Distance

The Half Marathon is the most popular race distance amongst runners. Long enough to get really involved and feel an immense sense of achievement it is much more accessible than the full marathon distance.

  • PB potential!

This fast, flat course on good running surfaces gives excellent opportunities for a quick time and potential PB!

  • The Technical Stuff

Gun and chip timing so you will get your personal time exact even if it takes a few minutes to cross the line at the start. All results up same day.

  • The Medal

Special bespoke design medal – It’s big, its heavy, you will want to wear it!

  • Post race Sustainance

Fruit and water at the Finish. Kingston market traders and local cafes also give you a wide range of options for a post race snack or meal!

  • Baggage

Baggage no problem with secure baggage drop and retrieval in place.

  • Transport

We have an arrangement with local parking for a £5 all day pass for runners (see details on the Race Day info page). Alternatively the start is only 5 minutes from Kingston Train Station which provides regular services from and to London. Many buses terminate or pass through Kingston central. Bike racks in the town are readily available.
